Career Growth in 2026: 3 Strategic Moves to Improve, Scale & Earn More

I know it’s rest day but it’s also the first day of the month so let’s position ourselves for March. Happy New Month Guys.

I can’t believe two whole months are already gone.

This month, our focus is clear and intentional:

career growth, improvement, scaling, and earning more.

March is an expansion of the seeds that were planted in February, and I want to take you along on the journey.

Because growth doesn’t happen by accident, it happens by strategy.

My growth journey looks like:

1️⃣ Re-establishing Authority in My Field

The first thing I did was deeply personal to my identity.

I asked myself:

If I applied to be a reviewer for the European Microwave Week 2026 in London, would I get it?

Not because I needed the title.

But because I needed confirmation that:

I am still relevant

I am still an authority

I am still aligned with the vision that led me to do a PhD in the first place

My long-term goal has always been to lecture not just from theory, but from real industry experience.

Every year I spend in industry sometimes feels like that dream is drifting.

So I tested myself.

And that test alone?

It reignited something in me.

And I got selected.

2️⃣ Scaling OZ Events by Letting Go

Engineering is my dad.

Business is my mum.

Both live fully inside me.

So I took a hard, honest look at my business:

What is working?

What is not working?

Where is the bottleneck?

And the answer shocked me.

To truly scale, I cannot hold OZ Events Ltd the way I currently am.

For it to grow beyond me, I must:

Partner

or

Sell

And no, that is not failure.

That is business maturity.

I am a business developer.

I have multiple ideas.

Outgrowing a structure is not failure, it is
expansion.

Letting go does not mean the vision dies.

It means the vision grows faster than I can carry it alone.

I don’t know the final outcome yet but I know this is the right season.

And I will bring you along for every step of that journey.

Because one of the hardest skills in life is:

Knowing when to hold on and when to release.

3️⃣ Going Back to the Fundamentals (And Healing Educational Gaps)

This one required humility.

In my engineering work, I realised there were foundational concepts I did not fully understand.

Not because I’m not capable.

But because of the system I came from.

And I will say this openly:

The educational structure many of us experienced especially with part-time lecturers, handouts, and no deep teaching left gaps.

Real gaps.

So I made a decision:

I am no longer outsourcing my understanding.

I sat down.

I relearned.

I rebuilt my foundation.

And this month, I am going even harder.

Because now:

I am older

I am more focused

I understand how I learn

And I no longer need permission to master my field.

Your March Challenge

Now it’s your turn.

Write down three things you will do this month that will:

✔ Improve your competence

✔ Increase your income

✔ Position you for growth

Not someday.

This month.

Because intentional months create transformational years.

 Final Words

This season for me is about:

Authority

Expansion

Courage

Letting go

Deep competence

And I am taking you with me on the journey.

Let’s make March count.

Happy New Month.

With Love,

The Engineer (Ayo)
