Number one: Taking my medication.
That might sound like a small thing, but for me, it isn’t.
I’ve always been the person who needs reminding. The person who waits until things get really bad before taking medication consistently. Or the person who starts feeling better and then stops taking it altogether.
So the fact that I woke up this morning, got my medication out, and took it without anyone reminding me feels like a win.
I’m no longer at rock bottom, and I’m proud that I’m still doing the things that will help me stay well.
The episode was called Why You’re Still Playing Small and How to Stop, and it really got me thinking.
One thing that stood out was his perspective on goals and achievement. It challenged some of the things I currently believe about setting goals and working towards them. I’m still processing it, but I love when something makes me stop and think, “What if there’s another way to look at this?”
I’m looking forward to seeing how I can combine some of those ideas with what already works for me.
Number three: Waking up to a clean house.
If you’ve ever had a busy season, you’ll understand this one.
Events have been quite hectic recently, and sometimes the chaos spills into the week. When my house is messy, my brain feels messy too. I can be trying to work on something important, but all I can think about is the pile of things that need sorting.
So waking up to a clean, organised house this morning felt amazing.
Those are my three favourite things from today.
And if you’re reading this:
• Take your medication if you’ve been putting it off. Don’t wait until you’re feeling terrible before looking after yourself.
• If you need something good to listen to today, that podcast is worth your time.
• And if your house is a little chaotic, spend 15 minutes tidying one area. You might be surprised how much lighter your mind feels afterwards.
Now tell me, what’s one thing you’re grateful for today?
With Love,
Ayo
