Fish, Laughter & Little Adventures

So… fun fact.
I had my first ever fish and chips just yesterday 😄 at Royal Pier.

I went with my friend E, and honestly? It was such a wholesome experience. We started with a walk along the beachfront, just chatting about everything from brows and lashes to deeper life conversations (you know those ones that just flow effortlessly?).

Then we stopped at this lovely chips shop, and wow… I get it now.
The fish was fresh
The chips were perfect
And the peas with the Tartare sauce? Divine!

I’ve never liked peas (if you grew up seeing peas in fried rice, you already understand 😅), but this tasted different, almost like Nigerian beans in texture and comfort. I was pleasantly surprised.

I already know the boys are going to enjoy this part.

If you’re anything like me and still have a week left before the kids go back to school, you’re probably thinking…

“What can I do to make these last few days count?”

Well, I’ve found something simple, calm, and honestly, beautiful.

We’re heading to Aberystwyth this weekend, and I thought I’d share our little itinerary in case you want something easy but memorable to do with your kids too.

My boys love the beach, so this is a must.

Nothing fancy, just:
Sandcastles
Bubbles
A ball
And a long, relaxed walk

Sometimes, the simplest things create the best memories.

We’ll then head over to the iconic

This is something I’m really excited about.

It’s not just the ride,it’s the experience:
The views at the top
The little indoor activities
Just that feeling of doing something different together

I can already imagine their faces when we get to the top 🥹. (Ollie is definitely heading straight for the mini golf outside!)

3. Next Stop : Royal Pier

Of course, we’re going back for fish and chips…because now I’m converted.
Good food, sea view, and maybe even a little Titanic moment, who knows?

Now this one is a bit special to me.

I recently attended a poetry session at work and loved it. It reminded me how powerful creativity can be, not just for adults, but for children too.

So we’re doing a family-friendly poetry session, and guess what?

Grandma is joining us too 🥰

It’s going to be such a wholesome, creative moment for all of us.

💼 Bonus Stop: “Mummy’s Workplace”

And because I’m that mum 😄

I’ll also be taking them to see where I work, just a quick visit so they can:
See my environment
Walk around
Understand what mummy does

I think it’s important for them to see it, not just hear about it.

Final Thoughts

Honestly, Aberystwyth is such a calm, peaceful place, perfect for a quiet family getaway, especially during school holidays.

It’s not loud.
It’s not overwhelming.
It’s just… right.

And sometimes, that’s exactly what we need.

A soft reset before life picks up again.

If you’re planning something similar, I’d love to hear what’s on your list 💛
