Best Family Farm in the West Midlands for Kids | Ash End House Children’s Farm Review

If you’re looking for somewhere to take the kids in the West Midlands, let me put you onto a gem, Ash End House Children’s Farm.

I booked it for Zach’s birthday, and if I’m being honest, I didn’t really know what to expect. I just knew one thing. I wanted somewhere the boys could interact with animals.

And let me tell you why.

The Backstory (Because This Is Where It Started 😭)

Zach had an activity in school where animals were brought in, and this boy… carried a snake.

A whole snake.

I saw the picture and almost screamed, “Jesus take the wheel!” because why is my child casually holding a snake without prior parental consultation?!

But when I asked him about it?

He loved it.

That’s when I knew, okay, we need a proper animal experience.

Booking Experience (10/10 for Flexibility)

One thing I absolutely loved about this farm is their flexibility.

I originally booked for Saturday, but life happened (as it always does), and I had to move it to Sunday.

And guess what?

You can cancel or reschedule up to 2 hours before your booking.

That alone? Premium behaviour.

Because if you’re a mum, you already know, plans can change at any time.

First Impressions: Straight Into the Fun

As soon as we arrived, we were given buckets of carrots to feed the animals and that’s where the excitement began.

Zach immediately locked in when he saw the ducks.

Oliver followed, of course.

And just like that, we were fully in farm mode.

Feeding the Animals (With a Side of Fear 😅)

Now this part was funny.

Zach, who carried a snake with confidence, was suddenly unsure about sheep and small animals.

Make it make sense 😂

But after watching other kids, he built confidence quickly and got involved.

That’s one thing I really appreciated. it’s a great environment for kids to ease into new experiences at their own pace.

Activities That Make It Worth It

This wasn’t just a “walk around and look at animals” kind of farm.

There were structured activities, which made the experience feel complete:

Collecting eggs from the hen house

Learning how eggs are incubated

Pony rides

Tractor rides

Completing an activity card (which the kids loved)

As a mum, I really appreciated the educational side of it.

It’s one thing to tell your kids how things work, It’s another for them to experience it themselves.

Play Areas (Do You Even Need Them?)

There are actually two play areas:

1. A smaller outdoor play section within the farm

2. A larger separate indoor play place

Now here’s my honest opinion.

By the time we finished the farm activities… we were tired.

Even I was tired.

So when we got to the indoor play area and the boys still had energy, I was like:

“Are we not going home?” 😭

They said no, of course.

But personally?

If I go again, I might skip the extra play place.

The farm itself already offers more than enough.

Final Thoughts: Is It Worth It?

Absolutely.

✔ Great value for money

✔ Interactive and engaging for kids

✔ Educational without feeling like a lesson

✔ Flexible booking (huge win for mums)

✔ Variety of activities beyond just animals

If you’re a Midlands mum looking for a fun, wholesome day out with your kids, this is definitely one to add to your list.

Mum Tip (Because We Learn the Hard Way 😭)

Pace yourself.

Don’t try to do everything in one go.

Because the kids will still have energy… and you will not.

Visit, Ash End House Children’s Farm.

With Love,

An Adventurous Mum (Lies), Ayo 😜
