Monday Motivation: The Swimsuit I’m Leaving Behind & Three Holiday Lessons

 I know it’s Monday Motivation…

but all I can think about is my swimsuit.

So instead of the deep, serious life talk, I’m giving you two things I’ve loved and one thing I’m leaving behind in March.

The thing I hate: my swimsuit

I cannot believe I’ve been wearing that swimsuit for a whole year.

A whole year.

Me - who loves fashion.

Me - whose wardrobe is a weekly event.

Me - who will scatter clothes everywhere just to plan outfits for the week.

And somehow… I kept wearing that.

It took getting into the pool with my boys because my three-year-old needed me in the water for me to see it properly and think:

What is this?

And why am I still wearing it?

No, I’m not describing it.

It’s between me and my past.

But here’s what I know:

1. My first purchase in March is a sexy
swimsuit

2. This one is not coming home with me

3. We are no longer associated

And the real lesson?

If something doesn’t feel like you anymore, change it.

You don’t need a full five-year plan.

Discomfort is enough reason to try the other side.

The thing I’ve loved: slowing down for breakfast

Not cooking cooking, let’s not lie 😄 but making breakfast for the boys.

Pancakes.

Sausages.

Scrambled eggs.

Egg muffins with cheese.

And my son saying:

“Mom, you didn’t even make pancakes on Pancake Day.”

That one touched me.

Because life has been so busy… I missed it.

This holiday reminded me:

Slow down, not because everything will suddenly become balanced

but because some moments deserve your full presence.

Will I remember Pancake Day next year?

No promises 😅

But I will remember this feeling.

The lesson from the beach: start before it’s perfect

If you know me, you know I’m always cold.

I drive with the heat on.

The kids open the windows.

We close them.

We open them again.

That’s our car routine daily.

So when the weather looked grey and moody and not-beach-worthy, I almost cancelled.

But the boys were excited. Buckets packed. Bubble maker ready.

So we went.

We were the first people there, looking slightly questionable 😂

Then slowly… everyone else came out too.

And that’s when it hit me:

Life doesn’t have to be perfect for you to show up.

You can start in the rain.

You can start before you feel ready.

You can start while you’re still figuring it out.

The real Monday Motivation (whether I planned it or not)

Leave what no longer feels like you.

Slow down for what matters.

Start before conditions are perfect.

Happy Monday Guys

Now go and get cracking,

while I sit on the beach with sand on my legs (Lies, too cold for that), watching my boys laugh, and minding my business.

With Love,

An Intentional Mom (Ayo 💜)
