I know I’ve been missing in action for the last few days, but honestly, it’s been an absolutely amazing week.
As I’m writing this, I’ve just finished turning my wardrobe upside down, planning outfits for the next few weeks. I’m determined to bring out all my executive and not-so-executive looks this summer.
I’m kidding… well, maybe only a little.
Anyway, let’s catch up. Letting you into the creative and chaotic behind the scenes.
Summer plans are officially underway
I have put together a timetable for the boys over the summer holidays.
They’ll be attending summer school later in August, after my mum leaves, which actually works out really well because it means I can save a little more this summer holiday.
I know lots of grandparents become the official childcare providers during the holidays, so I thought I’d create a simple routine that helps keep the boys busy instead of playing games all day. I’ll definitely be sharing that timetable here on the blog because I think it might help a few families.
More details coming during the week.
One very proud mummy moment
This week, my youngest graduated from preschool.
Watching both of my boys grow has honestly been one of the greatest privileges of my life. I never take motherhood for granted. Being trusted with raising another human being is such an incredible gift, and moments like these remind me just how quickly time flies.
Falling in love with engineering all over again
Work has been exciting too.
I’ve been given some really interesting research projects recently.
Remember a few weeks ago when I was saying I wanted more research work?
Well… I got exactly what I asked for!
I’ve been getting my hands dirty, digging into technical papers, equations and best practices, and I’ve genuinely been enjoying every minute of it.
If you’re an electronic engineering student reading this, please pay attention in class.
Seriously.
All those equations you sometimes wonder if you’ll ever use?
You’ll need them.
Especially if you’re working in research and development, where understanding the fundamentals makes all the difference. I’m finding myself using concepts I learnt years ago, and it’s incredibly satisfying finally putting them into practice.
Business mode activated
At exactly 5 p.m. on Friday, I closed my laptop from my engineering job and switched straight into entrepreneur mode.
This weekend is all about business.
I’m currently working on something really exciting behind the scenes.
When I first started, I honestly thought it would be easy.
It isn’t.
Not even close.
But maybe that’s the lesson.
Nothing truly worthwhile comes easy.
Everything worth building demands effort, consistency and patience.
So that’s exactly what this weekend is about.
Exploring Telford this summer
One thing many of you loved recently was my feature on a local bookshop in Telford.
It ended up becoming one of my most-read posts this month, which made me realise something…
Sometimes the best adventures are right on our doorstep.
So over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing fun places to visit around Telford during the summer holidays.
Finally, September!!!
September is about to change everything
Both of my boys will be in school full-time from September.
That still feels surreal.
The youngest will now be able to stay until after school club if needed.
Do you know what that means?
Hours.
Beautiful, uninterrupted hours.
The amount I’ll be able to get done…
You are not ready.
Honestly, I don’t think you’re ready for my level of productivity.
The version of me you’ve seen so far?
That’s only the beginning.
Before I go…
There’s something I wanted to say.
Whenever I tell you I’ve had a stressful week, or a difficult day, or that life has been a little heavy, I’m not sharing it to worry anyone.
I’m sharing it because behind every polished photograph…
Behind every blog post…
Behind every smile…
…there’s a real person.
I don’t have everything figured out.
I make parenting mistakes.
I make business mistakes.
I make life mistakes.
Probably more than I’d like to admit.
The difference is that I don’t allow my mistakes to define me.
I learn.
I adjust.
I keep moving.
And if you’re reading this while navigating your own difficult season, I hope you know you’re not alone.
Life has a way of stretching all of us.
We’re all figuring it out one day at a time.
Thank you to everyone who added to my joy this week.
Whether you knew it or not, your kindness, your encouragement, your smile or your support meant more than you realise.
Have a wonderful weekend.
I’ll hopefully be back with more posts next week, although it’s another busy one!
Until then…
Take care of yourselves, and I’ll speak to you very soon.
With Love,
Ayo
