Life gets busy. Work gets busy. Business gets busy. Family gets busy.
So every now and then, I like to pause and ask myself:
“What did I actually enjoy this week?”
Here are my five favourites from this week.
1. A Podcast That Made Me Think Differently About People
The first thing I’ve been loving is a podcast by Mel Robbins called:
As someone who works with people every day, whether through my full-time role, my events business, or my small chops business, I’ve learned that not everyone communicates the same way.
Some people are easy to understand.
Others are… a little more complicated.
What I enjoyed about this podcast was hearing a different perspective on how to manage difficult personalities without losing your cool. As a business owner, staying calm under pressure is a skill that becomes more valuable every year.
If you’ve ever found yourself wondering, “Why is this person behaving like this?” then this podcast might be worth adding to your playlist.
2. The Movie I’ll Be Watching This Weekend
I don’t think I’ve ever recommended a Nigerian movie on here before, but this weekend I’m making an exception.
I’ll be watching Blood Sisters Season 2.
I watched the first season and absolutely loved it. The storyline was gripping, the acting was brilliant, and some of the cast members are actors who have been perfecting their craft for years.
I’ve seen a few clips from the new season already, and it looks promising.
So Sunday evening’s plan is simple:
Popcorn.
Comfortable clothes.
No interruptions.
3. An Article That Reminded Me How Fast Technology Is Moving
This week’s favourite read was an article on:
Hospital’s simulation centre leads the way in training for real-life situations
Now, I know this probably isn’t everyone’s idea of exciting reading.
But as an engineer, I find simulation fascinating.
The ability to test, evaluate, and improve designs especially in the maternity ward is incredible.
The article explored how simulation are being used in healthcare training, allowing medical professionals to practise scenarios in a safe environment before applying those skills in real life.
It’s amazing to see how technology continues to transform industries that once seemed completely unrelated.
4. My Favourite Outfit Piece This Week
Without a doubt, my favourite clothing item this week has been my Mango tank top.
I actually own it in more than one colour because I love it that much.
The fit is flattering, the material feels great, and it’s one of those pieces that somehow works with almost everything.
I’ll be reaching for it again and again.
Simple.
Comfortable.
Reliable.
Exactly what I want from a wardrobe staple.
5. My Favourite Moment This Week
This one has to be from work.
We had one of our socials where Ellie and I grabbed some food and decided to sit outside afterwards.
The only problem?
It was freezing.
Absolutely freezing (at least to me).
So despite the cold, I stayed.
And I sat there trying my absolute best to pretend I wasn’t slowly turning into an ice sculpture.
Goosebumps and all.
Eventually, Ellie looked at me and asked:
“Are you cold?”
At that point, the secret was out.
I admitted defeat.
And we both laughed.
Over to You
Those are my five favourite things from this week.
A podcast.
A movie.
An article.
An outfit.
And a conversation that nearly gave me hypothermia.
Now I’d love to know:
What was your favourite thing this week?
With Love,
Ayo
