Five Things That Have Been Getting on My Nerves This Week

You know what? Today, I decided I needed to release it all into the air.

And what better place to do that than right here?

Because this week? This week has been annoying.
Not life-changing, not earth-shattering, just the kind of annoying that slowly chips away at your patience until you find yourself ranting about a computer mouse.

So here are five things that have been absolutely getting on my nerves.

1. My Accountant Is Breathing Down My Neck

Let’s start with the one that is entirely my fault.

I have a good bookkeeping app.

A very good bookkeeping app.

The problem?

I wasn’t actually using it the way I was supposed to.

Now I’m having to go back through transactions, accounts, purchases, receipts, and all the wonderful things that come with running a business. My accountant is understandably asking questions, and I’m sitting here wishing I could hand everything over to a member of staff.

But I can’t.

Because some of the transactions came from my personal accounts, some came from HSBC, some came from Barclays, and honestly, there are things only I understand.

So now I’m spending hours untangling things that could have been sorted months ago.

Am I annoyed?

Very.

Am I annoyed mostly at myself?

Unfortunately, yes.

2. This Hairstyle Is Trying to Take Me Out

I wanted the hairstyle.

I begged for the hairstyle.

Now the hairstyle is punishing me.

My head hurts.

I cannot sleep.

The first week was absolutely terrible.

I was taking paracetamol every day because my scalp felt like it was on fire.

I move my head one way, it hurts.

I touch my scalp, it hurts.

I lie down, it hurts.

At this point, I’m convinced beauty and suffering have entered into some secret agreement that nobody told me about.

3. I Forgot My Mouse at Work

This shouldn’t be a big deal.

And yet somehow, it is.

I forgot my mouse at work.

The home mouse has disappeared because my partner took it to work.

So now I’m left trying to function without one.

Can I technically work?

Yes.

Do I want to?

No.

Every task feels slower.

Everything feels harder.

And the most annoying part is that my mouse is just sitting there at work waiting for me.

Thursday cannot come fast enough.

4. Tonsillitis Has Hijacked My Entire Week

I had plans.

Big plans.

Productive plans.

Efficient plans.

Then a child got tonsillitis.

Suddenly everything takes three times longer than it should.

The nights have been endless.

“Mummy, I want biscuits.”

“Mummy, I want milk.”

“Mummy, I’m thirsty.”

“Mummy, I need water.”

And because he’s poorly, of course I respond.

But by morning I’m running on fumes and wondering how I managed to survive the night.

What should have taken two hours now takes seven.

Every plan has been delayed.

Every schedule has been rearranged.

And honestly?

That has been frustrating.

5. I’m Still in Event Mode and the Event Ended on Saturday

This one is really annoying me.

I had an event on Saturday.

In my mind, everything would be packed away, sorted, cleaned up, accounted for, and back to normal by Sunday.

Monday would be a fresh start.

A clean slate.

A brand-new week.

Instead, here we are on Tuesday.

And somehow I’m still dealing with event-related tasks.

Still sorting things.

Still following up.

Still thinking about an event that technically ended days ago.

I wanted closure.

Instead, the event has followed me into a new week like an unwanted guest who doesn’t realise the party is over.

Final Thoughts

The funny thing is that none of these things are disasters.

Nobody is dying.

The business is still growing.

The event was successful.

My child is recovering.

The bookkeeping will eventually get done.

And I will be reunited with my mouse.

But sometimes life isn’t about major problems.

Sometimes it’s just five small frustrations showing up at the same time and testing every ounce of your patience.

So today, I am releasing them into the air.

Tomorrow, we go again.

With Love,
Ayo
