Close enough to Feel

Today, she lets herself dream

She sees him

She sees his face, his smile, his nice clean cut

He looks effortlessly handsome, smiling, and talking to others

But his eyes are searching

Looking for her and finally finding her

He smiles

And in that moment, she wishes it were just them

Just the two of them

Left in the room

The light dims

and the chatter fades

She imagines all the impossible, spontaneously dangerous things that could happen

At first, they would stand apart

Not too far, not too close

Somewhere in between

Far enough to breathe, close enough to feel the air between them shift

She looks at him and smiles

He looks at her with excitement

They talk about everything, about nothing

About the future, about today

And then she hears the quick rhythm of their hearts

The shared pulse

Slowly, without meaning to, he moves closer

Because that’s the point, isn’t it

Their hands touch lightly, accidentally

Electricity

Butterflies

And maybe they do it again

She leans into him and bites her lips a little while looking into his eyes

He’s shy, but he looks back into her eyes

She runs her fingers through his hair until she traces the edge of his sleeve

He looks at her, surprised, unsure whether to step forward or stay still

But he can’t help himself either

Because he’s dreamed of this too

The moment where everything else fades

He comes closer, whispering something that sounds like the truth

She bites his lips

Kisses him not deeply, not yet

Just enough to call him back into the moment

He kisses her carefully, gently

Holding the moment as if it could break

The kiss lingers

Soft at first, then deepens

A slow, unstoppable fire

They both feel the intensity

Then she hears someone call her name

And just like that, reality returns

The noise

The crowd

The truth

They’re still just two people standing apart in a room

But what passes between them is real, consuming, magnetic, alive

Maybe one day they’ll get their chance

Maybe not

But for today, she lets herself dream.

Just to see You

This morning was chaos in the most ridiculous, beautiful way.

This is for you - Part 2

She’s weak in the knees She pauses

Tired, stretched, challenged… but still here

The quote is in Yoruba-English.   Ayo: When people talk about resilience, they imagine it as this superhuman ability to never get tired, to keep going without breaking a sweat.
