When you are Away - Day 13

Today was easier
than I thought it would be

So I’m back,
Obviously 🙄
And I stumbled on a video
that took me straight back
to the last time I saw you.

I got to stare,
really stare.
I even got to hear your voice.
It melted me
Reminded me
Why I fancy you.

But
I’m still beefing you.

Because you knew.
You were away for 18 days…
and you made no plan.
Nothing.

What did you think would happen?
That I wouldn’t notice the absence?
That you wouldn’t feel this restless?

I know you’re thinking of me
like I’m thinking of you.
I know you’re missing me
as much as I’m missing you.

And maybe that’s the gift of silence:
that it pulls at you,
tugs at me,
until we both admit
What this really is.

So yes,
 I’m thankful.
Grateful, even.

But still,
I’m beefing you.

And when you’re back,
just know
I’m fighting you
for making me miss you this much.

Not sure how it all started, here is the story of how it all began.
