When You are Away - Day 9

I miss you most today.

I don’t even understand

How can I feel this much

for one person.

This distance,

This silence

It feels heavier tonight.

I miss you so much it aches.

I’m in the kitchen,

fixing dinner,

trying to hold steady,

trying not to lose myself in the longing.

So I press play on Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee,

Despacito feat Justin Bieber

The rhythm sways me

side to side,

as if your body were here,

moving with mine.

And then I remember

You are always so present

You ask all the right questions

You get my jokes

You care for me

You enjoy teasing me

You create time for me

You look for me

You remember everything

You are easy to talk to

You remind me of what it feels like to love

And be loved

But most of all,

I love the way you look at me

Almost like I'm the forbidden fruit

Not sure how it all started, here is the story of how it all began.
