When you are Away - Day 10

Today,
I wished you had reached out,

But I also want to see the silence through.

It was the first time I dreamt of you

I saw your sweet smile.

So I’ve decided to give you a gift:

a little update,

a glimpse into everything I’ve been up to

this past week.

I’ve been very present,

the way I’ve always wanted to be.

Somehow, I found myself at the playground,

even standing and dancing in the rain.

I haven’t done that in years

pure joy.

I’ve been writing an entire series in real time,

So wild,

pitched my work to a publisher,

challenging myself more,

taking on new clients,

planning a few dates,

and dreaming of all the things I might yet achieve.

And amid it all,

I’ve learned a few new things about myself.

I can’t wait to tell you every detail.

So today,

I’ll linger on the memory

of the day you nicked my ducks.

I’ll miss you a little,

smile a little,

and enjoy my day.
